Gibb’s Garden in Georgia

This one was an unexpected surprise. On a trip to the mountains of northern Georgia, this stop off in Ball Ground (real name of the town) just northeast of Atlanta, was one of the trip highlights.

This is a 356 acre private residential estate created by Jim Gibbs and opened to the public in 2012. The hours of operation are from 9 am to 4 pm and admission is $25 per person.

There are different displays grouped throughout the botanical garden. There are a total of 20 seasonal flower displays throughout the acreage. I will share pictures and videos of the top displays that I discovered.

This is mostly a pictorial post as words will just get in the way of this beautiful grounds.

The daffodils

The Tulips

The Cypress

The Cherry Blossoms

The Children's Statues

The Manor

This takes several hours to cover the grounds on foot. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) there are no motorized transport services for the elderly, and there were a lot of elderly there!

There is much uphill to traverse, so expect to be worn out if you choose to walk the entire estate. Personally, I had to pop a couple anti-inflammatories the next day! But, it was well worth the pain.

Wow, what a beautiful place. I love going to the botanical gardens in boothbay harbor. Who would have ever thought that any of us three would have ever been impressed with a flower garden. 🤔😊🙏

Yeah I agree!

I’ve only been to the Boothbay one in winter so I’ve never seen the flowers there. Only the Christmas display. But I love that area including Pemaquid Point.

I am wondering if Jim Gibbs may be related to the ex football coach Joe Gibbs. Now Joe Gibbs is a race owner. The grounds are well kepted and the flowers are beautiful. The cherry trees are simply gorgeous in bloom . I understand why people go to the Washington area to view these trees

Yeah I think I caught the cherry trees in full bloom. I’ve never seen them in Washington in bloom but I have in Japan. Although not as massive as in Japan, the individual trees were just as impressive.
